If you're a reader it's likely you've seen a tagline on a book cover or in an advertisement for a book.
What is a tagline and why would you need one?
A tagline is a single line of text that can entice a reader to take a closer look at your book.
A strong tagline can summarize the the tone of your story. It can also help an author to focus on what's important to the story they're creating. It should also compliment your genre.
Your tagline is a great way to help advertise your book. It can be used on social media posts as a hook that can pull a reader in and make them take an interest in your book. A tagline is an easy way to engender interest in readers without weighing things down with a post containing the entire summary of the book. People are more likely to read a single line than an entire summary.
Here are a few examples of taglines -

Think about what the most important factor of your book is and create a tagline around that. It's a wonderful tool for advertising.
Make certain it isn't too long, generally it shouldn't be more than seven words, there are times that a tagline can be longer. Just be certain your tagline doesn't end up being a summary on its own.
